History
If grazing was good enough for the White House and the Philladelphia Phillies, they can be good enough for us! For the average person, the idea of hiring a goat to rummage around in the yard might sound a bit eccentric, but it’s not as unusual as you’d first think. When manpower was scarce during the World War I, President Woodrow Wilson relied exclusively on sheep power to cut the White House lawn. Animal grazers were also responsible for keeping the playing field of the Philadelphia Phillies trimmed in the 1920s.
What Makes GoatScaping Great
Chompers Goatscaping will lead the industry in the development of innovative and trend setting for an environmentally safe, eco-friendly, effective way to clear residential and commercial areas by happily grazing the areas needed to be cleared. This flagship service will be performed professionally and effectively especially for those who are allergic to poison ivy, oak, and sumac, removing thorny areas and brush. The service is certainly not intended to put John Deere out of business, however a goat-for-hire provides the eco-friendly benefits of retiring (at least temporarily) their arsenal of gas-powered, pollution-spewing lawn machines. A grass-eating goat won’t overwhelm the environment with pounds of CO2 and other pollutants into the atmosphere each year (in total, gas lawn mowers account for 5 percent of air pollution in the U.S. according to the EPA). Plus, an emissions-free, surefooted ruminant-on-a-mission can clear unwanted plant life in nooks, crannies and rough terrain that even the most souped-up lawn mower or weed whacker cannot reach.
What to Expect
Most sub-terrains can opt to rent my company which specializes in goatscaping along with the hardworking, bearded laborers with four-chambered stomachs, most reputable operations and provide a goatherd and my canine wrangler in the form of an Australian Shepherd along with myself to supervise, helping keep the hired mouths in line (no epic cud-chewing breaks) and prevent them from munching on your prized azaleas, which, by the way, are poisonous (lethal) to goats. Additionally, portable solar-powered electric fence will be set up to ensure that the goats don’t stray or are disturbed by predators.
While goats do indeed have hearty appetites, they won’t eat everything … and that includes tin cans. Due to their curious nature, they may take an exploratory nibble on whatever you put in front of them but when it comes down to it, goats prefer to nosh on things like grasses, nettle, blackberries, thistle and other invasive plants. Unlike borrowing a couple of goats for the day from
Aunt Betty’s son who has a friend, to clear out some pesky brush, a professional goat rental company will make sure the goats graze only on target plants while keeping them properly hydrated and provide them shelter from the sun. (under an outside umbrella, easy up, etc.
To end, I am very motivated and excited in walking through another journey in my life and my commitment is to the environment, all animals and those environmentally conscious and in need of my services.
